IGOR TALWINSKI

Igor Talwinski, a distinguished Polish painter active after 1945, made a significant impact on the art world from his base in Paris, where he settled following World War II. His artistic journey began with his first exhibition in Paris in 1951, leading to further solo exhibitions in London and New York. Talwinski specialized in female portraits and nudes, often featuring his niece as a model. His prominence grew as his works were showcased at the esteemed Salon des artistes français by the Société des Artistes Français from 1953 through the 1970s, displaying notable pieces like “Nature Morte” and “Femme nue.”

Throughout his career, Talwinski's contributions to art were recognized with top honors from the Council of Paris, including the Silver Medal of Paris and the prestigious “Grand Vermeil” award for his advancement of the arts. By his death in 1983, Talwinski's works had garnered international acclaim, becoming highly sought after by fine art collectors globally. His legacy is marked by his ability to capture the subtlety and beauty of his subjects, securing his place as a celebrated artist in the post-war era.
